Ork Wartrakks in the desert

Wartrakks are Ork tracked vehicles that are modified off the versatile warbuggy design by Mekboyz. Essentially a Warbuggy mounted upon a sturdy track unit, a Wartrakk sacrifices its speed for the ability to traverse rough terrain such as a ruined city and deliver heavier firepower. Wartrakks wield either a twin-linked Big Shoota or Rokkit Launcha.

This model was originally designed for Gorkamorka, and then became part of Warhammer 40K with Codex Orks.

I have added an Ork glyph to the frontal armour plate.

See the workbench feature on this Wartrakk.

There were at the time some Forge World conversion kits, including this lovely little fuel bowser.

There isn’t a similar model in the current range, which is a pity.

Found the Ork Warbike Rider

Ork Warbikes are ramshackle devices created from as many parts as possible, designed and maintained by the Mekboyz to fulfill two important Ork urges: to move as fast as possible and to make as much noise while doing so.

This model is an original Ork Warbike from Gorkamorka, so has a fair few of metal parts. Originally after sticking the model together I gave it a white undercoat. I then painted the metal parts black. Having recovered the Warbike from storage I painted part of the bike with Snakebite Leather constrast paint. For the bodywork of the Warbike I used Blood Angels Red contrast paint.

I found the rider, whose driving arm had fallen off. After cleaning the join of old glue I glued the rider back together.

I had given the rider a black undercoat, thinking do I keep this, or respray with a white undercoat.

I used Leadbelcher on the front forks and the rear exhausts.

Still more to do.

I then used Tinbitz on the tracks.

In storage the bike has lost it’s totem and the driver is now in bits (again).

An original Gorkamorka model…

This model is an original Ork Biker from Gorkamorka, so has a lot of metal parts compared to the current (yet old) completely plastic kit. After sticking the model together I gave it a white undercoat. I then painted the metal parts black.

Here is the bike complete with rider.

Grot Cutta

I originally bought this model for my Flintloque army.

It is a Gorkamorka Grot Cutta.

I am intending to use it with my Warhammer 40K Ork army as an alternative buggy.

The model originally came with two rear rubber tires, I decided (as it was a fantasy napoleonic army) to use the WH40K metal wheels. I have kept them as I think it looks better that way.
