Bloodbowl Gnomes

A new team for Bloodbowl has been announced, the Gnomes. They were revealed back at the beginning of March.

Bloodbowl Gnomes

Gnomes are avid Blood Bowl fans who usually stick to their own secluded burrows, but every once in a while a team will enter the ‘big’ world and make a name for themselves in the leagues – usually through the popularity of their adorable woodland compatriots rather than any actual skill or success. Whether it’s a Beastmaster working alongside a ferocious goose to shore up their team’s line of defence or a speedy fox sprinting downfield with the ball in their mouth, Gnomes make use of many furry friends to fill in where their short stature can’t compete. Then if that isn’t enough to secure some touchdowns, their mastery of illusions and capricious tricks surely is.

In the original Forces of Fantasy for first edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle there was a Gnome army and you could even get a few Citadel miniatures as well.

Now I don’t play Bloodbowl, well I played first edition (the one with card players), but I quite like the concept of the team.

I like the use of animals in the team as well.

Bloodbowl Snotlings

Revealed today the newest team for Bloodbowl…

It’s Snotlings.

Of course Bloodbowl is a game based in a fantasy setting, but didn’t mean I didn’t start thinking about other possibilities as reinforcements for my Warhammer 40K Grot army.

I was always a fan of the old Snotling Pump Wagon and I do quite like this new one.

Bloodbowl Snotling Pump Wagon

It has a lot of character and with a little conversion could work in a Warhammer 40K setting. I have been painting a few Snotlings as additions to my Ork vehicles, as well as Grot tanks, so this wouldn’t be too much out of place. Even the players look like they will be useful.

Epic is coming back….

Epic

According to this article on Wired.

Games Workshop will launch a new ‘Specialist Games’ studio to bring classic board games including Blood Bowl back from the dead.

They quote Games Workshop

“Our all-new Specialist Design Studio will even be tasked with bringing back and re-vamping some of our old favourites. Blood Bowl, Epic, Necromunda and Battlefield Gothic are just some of the great games the team are already eyeing up,”

It looks more than likely that we might see the return of Epic into the family of Games Workshop games. This is an interesting move from GW, who closed down the previous incarnation of Specialist Games in 2009 after creating it back in 2002. During that time we saw many new releases for Epic and other games, including the infamous fantasy football game, Bloodbowl.

Can’t find the press release on the GW website, as their site is down at the time of writing will update as and when we have more news.
