Lego DeLorean

Lego are going to release a Lego DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Lego DeLorean

Inspiring fans to fire up their brick building engines, the LEGO Group and Universal Brand Development have revealed a brand new three-in-one reproduction of one of the most iconic vehicles of all time – the Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine.

Inspired by the DeLorean car seen in the time travelling adventure film franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, the LEGO Back to the Future Time Machine set allows builders to create the car from either the first, second or third film. What’s more, it comes complete with a light-up flux capacitor, a box of plutonium, Marty’s hoverboard and LEGO minifigure versions of Doc Brown and Marty McFly.

You can build one of three versions of the iconic vehicle.

Tempted.

I wonder if it is the same scale as the Lego Volkswagen T2 Camper?

Then (with a little work) you could recreate that scene in the Twin Pines Mall.

It’s the Libyans!

I missed out on last year’s Battlefront Team Yankee 15mm De Lorean objective and I guess I will probably miss out on this year’s objective too….

To match last year’s wildly popular Delorean objective for WWIII, we’ve delivered on the promise of a Libyan-terrorists-in-a-van Objective to match! Of course, based on the famous scene from the beginning of Back to the Future. Now lets see if they can do 90.

Here is the VW Bus with the De Lorean.

I really like these models, but not sure if I will make it to any tournament to get one.

Doctor Who in Lego

Well what do we have here, the Doctor in Lego.

Oh and K9 and a TARDIS.

Okay so not a proper set (just yet), but for the forthcoming Lego Dimensions console game.

The game uses “real” Lego which are then “brought” into the game. There is a real mix of brands, for example the starter set has Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle (from The Lego Movie).

You can expand the game with packs and these have so far included figures from the Lego franchises such as Ninjago, but also Wonder Woman, Lord of the Rings, Wizard of Oz and Back to the Future.

With the release of some instructions, we now know that there will also be an expansion pack for Doctor Who.

The copyright notice for Doctor Who is quite interesting as it includes details of Daleks and Cybermen.

From this I would ascertain that we will see Lego Daleks and Cybermen, very likely in the game, but could mean Lego Daleks if and when more Doctor Who Lego is released.  The BBC does not hold all the rights to all the Doctor Who monsters, therefore licensed products need to both licence Doctor Who from the BBC, but also need to licence Terry Nation (estate) for the Daleks.

In addition to Doctor Who we have also seen packs for Jurassic World, Scooby Doo, Portal and The Simpsons.
